Frank Swirko is a retired U S. Army Command Sergeant Major. He enlisted at the age of 17 and served 42 years. During his military career he was awarded the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star Medal, NATO Distinguished Service Medal, both the Expert Infantry and Combat Infantryman Badges. A few of his assignments included Drill Sergeant, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Senior Enlisted Advisor, RCD, JIEDDO, Pentagon, and Command Sergeant Major, NATO Headquarters, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In 2012, Frank retired from the Manchester, New Hampshire Police Department after 23 years of Service. During his Law Enforcement career, he served as a field training officer, traffic investigator, detective, patrol supervisor, and as the supervisor of the Special Investigations Unit. He served as a member, and later supervisor of the Metro Team of the NH Attorney General’s Office Drug Task Force. He was a certified police instructor, taught undercover operations, and undercover survival techniques, to local, state, and federal agencies throughout the country.
After successful careers in both the military and law enforcement, Frank remains invested in serving his community. He is a member of his town’s planning board, budget committee, is the town Welfare Director, and managing director of the town food pantry. An avid veteran advocate, he is often asked to be the keynote speaker at various veteran related ceremonies. Frank is a member of, and on the Board of Directors of the AUSA Penn/Franklin Chapter, located in Philadelphia, and a lifelong member of the Boston Police VFW Post 1018.
A lifelong learner, he has a master’s degree in strategic leadership, a bachelor’s degree in organizational management, and achieved Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (LSGB) from Syracuse University. He is a graduate of the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy, Infantry School, and New Hampshire Police and Standards 88th Training Academy. He and his wife Sue, reside in the local area and have five children, and four grandchildren.
